In summary, Cypress HyperFlash NOR memory flash drives are the first family of products based on the Cypress HyperBus interface. This family features read throughput of up to 333 MB/s, more than five times faster than ordinary Quad SPI flash. The HyperBus technology also allows for connection using one-third the number of pins of parallel NOR flash. The Cypress HyperFlash memory KS family uses a 1.8 V power supply and the KL family uses a 3 V power supply and both come in three densities of 128, 256, and 512 Mb. They are available in a space-saving 6 x 8 mm ball grid array (BGA) package and the devices provide a migration path from single Quad SPI to Dual Quad SPI to HyperFlash memory. The high density (128 Mb – 512 Mb) HyperFlash NOR flash memories deliver the performance required for the highest-performance embedded systems found in automotive advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), automotive instrument cluster, automotive infotainment systems, network routers and switches, and high definition set-top boxes. The features of the HyperFlash enable a single design to be scaled to different levels of flash performance, enabling rapid deployment of multiple product models. HyperFlash memories are qualified to the highest standards, including automotive AEC-Q100 qualification with support for temperatures that range from -40°C to 125°C.
