There are cautions to use when incorporating a thermal cut-off into an application. Bends in the leads should be at least 3mm from the body of the TCO. Also, extreme caution must be used when soldering to avoid heating above the function temperature. A heatsink should be used to avoid this problem. The temperature of the area where a cut-off will be attached should not reach the holding temperature under normal usage conditions as well.
