IoT products -- devices that are connected to the Internet -- have become a staple of people's daily lives. Between wearable fitness and health devices, home automation, and controls and monitoring, IoT devices are immersed in one’s culture and their effect on people's lives will only increase. Such objects are able to connect to the Internet through wireless communication, connecting wireless devices with physical sensors. These devices use a variety of communication protocols to operate, among them being Bluetooth Smart (also known as Bluetooth Low Energy or BLE). BLE offers a low-power connection for IoT devices to have ideal battery life while maintaining a reliable connection, and is used in nearly all Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices.
