The solution is to eliminate the connectors. Wireless charging is contactless, which means no connector is required. The way this is accomplished is by wireless power transfer (WPT). Wireless charging enables or improves many different applications. Expensive connectors which become failure-prone can be eliminated. Similarly, wireless charging allows for a hermetically-sealed enclosure for applications that require sterilization. Furthermore, elimination of wires enables rechargeable batteries to be placed in moving or rotating equipment. Also, some applications are simply too small to use a conventional connector.
