Shown here is an example of a product that includes on chip buffering. The AD5754R family of quad channel DACs features both on-chip reference buffering and on-chip output buffering. The internal 2.5V reference is buffered on-chip and hence no external buffering is needed. The output buffer shown here in red is accompanied by range scaling circuitry which provides a number of user configurable ranges, both uni-polar and bipolar. Designed for ease of use, the AD5754R is a system-ready, complete, single-chip solution which eliminates a multitude of support circuitry, including the buffering and gain components required by discrete implementations. Because this is a complete solution in one package, it provides predictable and specified accuracy and performance, reduces system design time, and simplifies PCB layout. Perhaps most importantly, the AD5754R family offers programmable voltage output ranges (+/-5, +/-10, +/-10.8, 0-5, 0-10, 0-10.8V), split supply operation, and high output drive capability, which means that it provides the flexibility required to deploy one analog output solution across many different applications without the need for any hardware or software modifications.
