Instrumentation Amplifier Primer Slide 5

This slide shows typical measurements an instrumentation amplifier might perform. An instrumentation amp is often used to measure RTD or thermocouple temperature sensors. It can be used to measure voltage, especially if this voltage signal comes from a sensor some distance away from the signal conditioning circuit board. A very common measurement is wheatstone bridges which are often used to measure strain and or pressure. Finally instrumentation amps are used for measuring biopotential signals, such as ECG, EMG, and EEG.
