The AS5048 has a 14-bit resolution that is targeted for high accuracy angle position sensing. Its standard interfaces I²C or SPI with PWM make it easy to use with any microcontroller. It is very important to mention that the zero position register and also the I²C address register can be programmed with a simple microcontroller command. That means no programmer is needed for programming this device. The wide magnetic field input range from 30 milli Thesla to 70 milli Thesla makes the system very flexible to use different magnet materials and supports also a wide air gap range. The device has also two different supply voltages 3.3 volts and 5 volts for higher flexibility in different applications and it is packaged in an easy to handle TSSOP-14 package.
