The FCI Gig-Array connector system is designed as a 100Ώ differential pair system, as is commonly used in high speed signal transmission today. Up to 10Gb performance and low crosstalk assures that the electrical signals will be transmitted cleanly between boards. Mechanical and electrical reliability are achieved by a contact system that provides two points of contact for a signal, and housing polarization features to help prevent plugging the two halves together incorrectly.
