The flow-through sensor is constructed using a patented housing pre-mold with snapped in thermistor assembly. This type of construction ensures a leak proof seal between the NTC element and media being measured. Typically over-molded sensors suffer from knit line leak paths to the NTC element, which can lead to resistance drift and sensor failure. The thermistor is directly soldered to the terminal lead-frame. This enables a reliable crimp free connection between the NTC and connector terminals.
