Conventionally, most solutions leverage a protocol gateway to convert remote I/O data to OPC UA, which requires extra cost and effort in configuration. Software installed in the operating system of the gateway increases the system’s risk of being attacked by malware. In contrast to competitor’s solutions, the ADAM-6300 series is capable of directly communicating over OPC UA without the need of protocol gateways, which saves the cost and effort on OPC UA gateway setting. Furthermore, it is an embedded, non-operation-system structure that lowers the risk of malware attack and provides high stability.
