The Max Clip System™ can be mounted directly to printed circuit boards by installing tin plated pins in the base of the heat sink and then creating a pattern of plated through-holes in the circuit card to accept the pins. The heat sink assembly can then be inserted into the circuit board holes and soldered into place during wave solder operations. These pins come in a variety of stand-off lengths as illustrated on this slide. Since placement of the pins is specific to the application, a customer supplied drawing is required when ordering.
