Unleash the Power Within: Toshiba Semiconductors

For decades, Toshiba has been a driving force in electronics, pioneering new power technologies and propelling the industry forward. As society races towards a future of electric vehicles, smart cities, and beyond, efficient and innovative power design has never been more critical. Toshiba's power semiconductors rise to the challenge, delivering robust solutions that maximize efficiency and performance in these cutting-edge applications.

From MOSFETs with exceptional switching speeds and low on-resistance, to ultra-compact isolators safeguarding sensitive circuits, and intelligent gate drivers powering high-performance motors, Toshiba's unique portfolio of power semiconductors is critical to modern power designs.

MOSFETs

Toshiba offers an extensive portfolio of low and mid/high voltage MOSFETs. For low voltage applications (VDSS = 12V-250V), Toshiba offers U-MOS MOSFETs in various packages to support a wide range of applications from small-signal to high current. Toshiba features super-junction MOSFETs (DTMOS) for high voltage (VDSS = 500V-800V) applications such as switching power supplies and inverter motors.

Toshiba’s 3rd generation 650V and 1200V SiC MOSFETs offer excellent reliability, superior operation in high-temperature environments, high-speed switching, and low on-resistance.

Motor Control

Toshiba motor controller and driver ICs utilize leading-edge BiCMOS technology which combines the advantages from analog bipolar devices, digital MOSFETs, and high power DMOS devices. This technology allows for lower R¬DS(ON)¬ that helps save overall system power. Such devices are designed for brushless, brushed, and stepper motors for a wide variety of applications.

Isolation

Due to the increased prevalence of high-power design, isolation has never been more important. Toshiba offers a two-pronged approach to isolation with optical (LED) and digital (inductive) products. Both approaches bring unique benefits such as size, efficiency, speed, longevity, and isolation performance. Toshiba’s isolation products are coupling and relay devices for sensing, driving, and communicating over an isolated barrier.
