High Efficiency DRB Models

DRB Series

TDK Corporation offers the DRB series of DIN rail power supplies

TDK-Lambda DRB series of DIN rail power supplies are for low-power applications and designed to support the growing trend for simple and economic DIN power solutions in industrial, building automation and process control applications. The DRB series combines low cost and extremely-compact dimensions with industry-leading efficiency of up to 91% with no-load power consumption that is between <0.3 W and <0.5 W depending on the model type.

The supplies operate from a universal input of 85~264Vac and have EN61000-3-2 compliance, enabling worldwide use and can operate at full load over a wide temperature range of -10 to +55° C (+70° C for 15 W model). Typical ripple and noise is below 40 mV and a green LED indicates DC OK. Other features include over-current and over voltage protection, and a hold-up time of up to 20 ms at 100Vac input voltage, full load.

The DRB series is approved to UL508 safety standard for industrial control equipment. Further safety approvals include IEC/EN 60950-1 (2nd Ed.) and UL/CSA 60950-1. CE marked in accordance with the LV Directive, EMC Directive and RoHS Directive, the power supplies are designed to meet EN55022 and CISPR22 Class B for conducted and radiated EMI, and includes a three-year warranty.

DRB Series 120 W and 240 W DIN Rail Power Supplies

DRL Series

TDK-Lambda’s 120 W and 240 W rated, DRB series of AC-DC DIN rail mount power supplies feature narrow widths allowing additional devices to be installed on the rail, saving cabinet space. The high 93% efficiency produces less internal waste heat enabling electrolytic capacitors to run cooler, extending field operating life to greater than 7 years at 75% load, 230 VAC input. Applications include industrial process control, factory automation, semiconductor fabrication, and test and measurement equipment.

Rated for continuous operation at 120W and 240W, the DRBs can deliver a +20% peak load for up to 10 seconds. The power supplies are currently available with a 24V output, adjustable from 24V to 28V, and can accept an 85 to 264Vac input withstanding surges of up to 300Vac for 5 seconds. The operating ambient temperature is -25°C to +70°C, -40°C cold start, derating linearly above 55°C to 50% load at 70°C.

In addition to a front panel LED, an isolated DC OK opto-coupled signal is provided to show the output status either locally or remotely. The DRB120 and DRB240 have a rugged metal enclosure measuring 124mm in height, 125mm deep and narrow widths of 35mm and 41mm respectively.

Input to output isolation is 3,000 VAC, input to ground 1,500 VAC, and the output to ground is 500 VAC. Both models are certified to the safety standards of IEC/UL/CSA/EN 60950-1, IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1, UL508, IEC/EN 62477-1 (OVC III), and are CE marked in accordance to the low voltage, EMC, and RoHS Directives. The DRBs are compliant to EN55011-B, EN55032-B, CISPR11-B, CISPR22-B, EN61204-3 (Class A) radiated and conducted emissions, EN 61000-3-2 harmonics, IEC 61000-4 immunity, and SEMI F47 line dip standards

DRF/HL Series

The DRF120-480 series of full-featured DIN rail mount power supplies combines compact dimensions with industry-leading efficiency. The DRF/HL series extends the DRF series and carries a five-year warranty and is available is three power levels: 120 W (5A), 240 W (10 A), and 480 W (20 A). Low-Profile DIN Rail-Mount Power Supplies

DSP Series

TDK-Lambda has introduced a series of low-profile DIN rail-mount power supplies only 2.2 inches deep, making them ideal for installation in shallow enclosures commonly used in building automation and security applications.

The new DSP series supplies are available with nominal outputs from 5 to 24 volts and power levels from 10 to 100 watts in four packages sizes. Load regulation is less than 1% from no load to full load, with ripple and noise below 50 millivolts. To compensate for cable voltage drops, the output voltage can be adjusted from the front panel, and colored LED indicators give an immediate visual confirmation of output status.

The power supplies feature universal input, allowing them to operate from any AC input voltage between 90 to 264 VAC, 47 to 63 Hz, without the need to reposition input voltage selector switches. Because the units are Class II (double insulated), no earth ground wire is required.

Models are approved to UL60950-1, EN60950-1 and UL1310 specifications (less than 4- amp units) and are listed to UL508. The supplies are convection cooled and can operate at full power over a wide temperature range of -25°C to +61°C, derating linearly at 2.5% of a degree above 61°C to 71°C.

The units are enclosed in a plastic case measuring just 0.71 x 3.58 x 2.2 inches (10 W models) to 3.54 x 3.58 x 2.2 inches (100 W models) and will mount on either a TS35/7.5 or TS35/15 DIN rail.

DPP 3-Phase Series DIN Rail Mount Power Supplies

DPP 3-Phase Series

TDK-Lambda AC-DC DIN Rail-Mount power supplies with outputs rated from 120 to 480-watts that operate off a 3-phase AC line input from 340 to 575 VAC. These models are ideal for factory automation, industrial control systems and test and measurement equipment.

Each series are available with the most popular output voltages: 12 VDC and 24 VDC outputs are available in the DPP120 series (rated at 120 W) plus 24 VDC and 48 VDC outputs are available in the DPP240 series (rated at 240 W) and the DPP480 series (rated at 480 W). An important feature of these new units is their bi-phase operation; under a dropped phase condition they will continue to operate with the output power derated to 80%. All models incorporate power factor correction in accordance with EN61000-3-2.

Output voltages can be adjusted to allow for the voltage drop in cables and similar factors. Load regulation is ±1% when the supplies are used individually and ±5% when two supplies are connected in parallel for higher power applications.

For additional convenience in control and automation applications, the 24 V model includes a voltage monitoring (DC Good) relay. The relay contacts are rated at 0.3 A and they close when the output voltage is above 17.6 V to 19.4 VDC; this can be useful in protecting devices such as sensors and solenoids that may be unpredictable at reduced voltages, i.e., below their nominal 24 V rating.

Further features of these DPP 3-phase series include over current protection, over voltage protection and over temperature protection with auto recovery. The operating temperature range of the power supplies is from -25°C to +71°C.

These DPP 3-phase series power supplies from TDK-Lambda meet EN55022 Class B EMI standards (radiated and conducted), are CE marked, and are safety-approved to UL/EN60950-1 and UL508 specifications. All models are suitable for either TS35/7.5 or TS35/15 DIN-Rail mounting, and have a robust metal case with convenient screw terminal connections. All models carry a two-year warranty.

DPP Low-Power DIN Rail Power Supplies

DPP Series

TDK-Lambda has introduced a family of DIN rail-mount power supplies available with a choice of 5-, 12-, 15-, 24- and 48-volt outputs. The low-power DPP series is an economical solution specifically designed for light industrial applications such as chemical processing, automotive and instrumentation.

TDK-Lambda's DPP series consists of eight models – enclosed in rugged plastic cases – in three package sizes. The DPP15 can provide 15 watts of power in a compact 2.95 x 0.9 x 3.81 inches, models DPP30-50 up to 50 W (2.95 x 1.77 x 3.58 inches), and the DPP100 up to 100 W (2.95 x 2.86 x 3.81 inches).

Each model can operate worldwide without the need for pre-selecting the AC input range. Models DPP15-50 can accept a broad range of 85 to 264 volts AC, the DPP100 automatically selects between 85-132 VAC and 176-264 VAC, and all models can accept a DC input voltage.

The new power supplies feature a low ripple and noise of up to 50 millivolts and are protected against overload and over-voltage conditions. All models are approved to UL508, UL60950 and EN60950 specifications. The units are convection cooled and can operate at full power over a wide temperature range of –10°C to +60°C, derating linearly at 5% of a degree above 60°C to 71°C.

DIN-Rail Mount 40-60 W DC-DC Converters

DPX Series

TDK-Lambda has introduced the new DPX Series to satisfy customer demand for DC-DC converters that can be easily mounted onto DIN rails. Available with both 2:1 and 4:1 input voltage ranges covering from 9.5 V to 75 V, with 40 to 60 W output ratings, this new series provides an economical solution for industrial and commercial applications such as process control, factory automation, test and measurement, as well as for alarm and security systems.

The DPX models are available with single, dual or triple outputs. The single output models are available with an output voltage of 5V, 12 V or 15 V and the dual-output models have ±12 V or ±15 V outputs. The triple-output models provide a +5 V main with either ±12 V or ±15 V outputs. The single output models can be adjusted ±10% of its nominal output via a front-panel mounted potentiometer. Plus, a green LED indicator on the front panel gives an immediate visual confirmation of the output status.

The DPX Series of DC-DC converters are enclosed in a rugged metal case and can be mounted on either a TS35/7.5 or TS35/15 standard DIN rail. Typical operating efficiencies are up to 86%. All DPX models feature reverse-input-polarity protection, remote On/Off control, 1.6 kV input to output isolation and are internally protected from overvoltage and overcurrent conditions.

These power supplies are convection cooled and operate over a wide temperature range from -40 to +85°C. The series also meets EN55022 Level B EMI standards (radiated and conducted), MIL-STD-810F shock & vibration and are CE-marked in accordance with the LV Directives.
