MSS5M1 Medical Alarm
Mallory's MSS5M1 can be configured to provide alarm signals based on priority
The sheer number of different medical devices with alarms can make it difficult for medical providers to discern between high priority and low priority alarms. That is one reason that the IEC (International Electro-Technical Commission) developed Standard 60601-1-8 for alarm systems in medical equipment. This comprehensive standard covers everything from the type of medical condition that should trigger an audible warning signal to the specific frequency and shape of the audible sound waveform.
Mallory's MSS5M1 audible alarm is specifically designed to meet IEC Standard 60601-1-8. The MSS5M1 features circuitry that can be configured to provide low priority, medium priority, or high priority alarm signals. Each priority has a distinctive "burst" or "pulse train" of individual sounds. Mallory is the first to offer a single package alarm meeting IEC 60601-1-8 in an ultra-miniature board mount package that outputs at 88dB.
