Image of ams OSRAM TMF8806 Single-Zone ToF ams OSRAM TMF8806 is designed to remove the barriers observed with the earlier single-zone dToF devices, including TMF8701, TMF8801, and TMF8805. No FW download is required to operate this device, saving host MCU memory space, reducing startup time, and saving overall system power by enabling customers to quickly start the device and make measurements in a few milliseconds. This ULP capability means customers can employ dToF devices in ultra-low-power applications such as battery-powered sanitary flush/soap dispensers while maximizing battery life.

No firmware download and customer access to device registers means these devices are highly configurable. Along with a strong development tool and document ecosystem, the barriers to developing with dToF sensors have been reduced significantly.
