ST Microelectronics offers the X-Nucleo-NFC06A1, which is an NFC card reader expansion board for STM32 and STM8 Nucleos boards. Based on the ST25R3916 IC, this expansion board supports numerous proximity and vicinity communication protocols. It features automatic antenna tuning technology which enables operation when placed close to metallic parts and/or in changing environments. The PCB-etched inductive antenna, which measures 47 by 34 millimeters, operates at 13.56 megahertz. And its on-board, low-power capacitive sensor performs an ultra-low power wake-up without switching the reader field on. Other features include up to 1.7 watts of output power with a differential antenna, being capable of driving two antennas in single-ended configuration, being equipped with an Arduino UNO R3 connector, being FCC certified, and more.
