SparkFun Teensy 4.0 | DigiKey Daily
Sparkfun presents PJRC’s latest Teensy, the Teensy 4.0. It’s offered in the same size and shape as the Teensy 3.2, and it maintains compatibility with most of the pin functions on Teensy 3.2. However, Teensy 4.0 employs NXP’s iMXRT1062 processor which features the implementation of the Arm Cortex-M7 core and runs at speeds up to 600 megahertz for providing high CPU performance and best real-time response. And because the Cortex-M7 is a dual-issue superscaler processor, it can execute two instructions per clock cycle, at 600 megahertz. Also, the Cortex-M7 processor includes a floating point unit which supports 32-bit float and 64-bit double, meaning the Teensy 4.0 can execute double functions like log, sine, and cosine using its floating point unit hardware.
