Semtech's HotSwitch for System Protection is an integrated power switch designed to safeguard against transient and steady-state fault conditions, offering comprehensive protection for various applications. The Hotswitch connects to the main power rail and controls load activation, effectively replacing traditional fuses and other protective devices. It also detects electrical surges and ensures downstream subsystem security by easily disconnecting the load from the power source. Additionally, it can incorporate features like adjustable overvoltage protection, current limits, soft-start, and thermal shutdown based on application needs. The HS2950P model supports a VIN range of 2.7 V to 29 V, 5 A output current, and low RON of 25 mΩ. While the HS2240P offers a VIN range of 2.7 VDC to 22 VDC, up to 3.1 A DC output current, and low RON of 40 mΩ. Semtech's HotSwitch for System Protection devices are ideal for applications in telecommunication, networking equipment, set-top boxes, smart TVs, industrial equipment, and more.
