TDK offers a variety of capacitors for crack mitigation purposes: The Open Mode capacitor has a wider L-Gap design that reduces the risk of short circuit failures. The Soft Termination capacitor has the traditional Copper, Nickel and Tin, and an additional conductive resin terminal electrode that absorbs external stress and protects the capacitor body. The Serial Design has two capacitors constructed in a single body to maintain continuous circuit function in the event that one short circuits. The Mega Cap and Stacked Capacitor both have lead frames attached to their terminal ends that absorbs mechanical and thermal stress. The Conductive Epoxy has termination comprised of Silver, Palladium, and Copper. It is used for conductive glue mounting applications.
