CTS has a long history in the design and manufacture of resistor networks. It started in 1960 with a through hole single-in-line-package or SIP which held approximately 70 resistors per square inch. CTS has seen many package changes over the years. The 1970’s & 1980’s ushered in surface mount technology and CTS continued to design innovative packages to meet ever changing demands. In the 1990’s a shift to smaller dense packaging introduced chip array packages. In 2000 CTS introduced the ClearONE product line, a resistor network in a BGA package, moving the technology that once held 70 resistors per square inch to an amazing 750 resistors per square inch.
