A6211-Slide5

The A6211 can drive high current LED modules or a series of LEDs in a string. LED strings can also be driven in parallel when a ballast resistor is incorporated. A key feature of the A6211 is the wide operating voltage range. The buck topology conveniently steps voltages down in order to accommodate high brightness LED levels, increasing versatility in end applications as well as in LED light arrangements.

Allegro prides itself in the ability to provide robust products and the A6211 is no exception. It survives pin-to-pin as well as pin to ground shorting. Missing or shorted components are also survivable fault modes. Automatic thermal shutdown protects the device in the event of an over temperature occurrence. These features protect against device or PCB damage due to defects during manufacturing. Furthermore, it is an important aspect in the overall system failure mode protection in the field.
