Horticultural Lighting Solutions

The farming method of the future. As the earth's population is rising, more land is needed to grow enough food to feed them. With most of the earth's land already in use, however, other solutions are required. Indoor farming, also known as vertical farming or horticultural farming, is a potential solution. Horticultural lighting is revolutionizing the future of farming enabling farmers to sustainably grow vegetables and fruit all year-round. It makes it possible to grow faster, using less land, less water, less fertilizers and zero pesticides.

Horticultural lighting requires fixtures that are easy to install and compatible with the widest range of wiring that an installer may use. Connectors need to handle simple low-current power over a 2-wire system for small installations and solutions are required that installers can install in minimal time reducing labor costs. Robust solutions are needed for installations in commercial greenhouses that span acres and hundreds of thousands of square feet and need to carry higher current as well as signal connections for lighting hue control.

Fixture Assemblies

TE’s fixture connect solutions are engineered for improved manufacturability and faster installation. TE low-profile, easy-install connectors, terminations, and power line filters save time and integrate into new or existing LED fixtures.

Power-to-Luminaire Connectors

TE Nector S connector is a small, two position power-to-luminaire connector designed to meet the lighting industry’s need for a compact, easy-to-install interconnect solution. This 7.5mm connector can easily fit in an 8 mm opening compared to other connectors that require much larger openings.

IPx8 Rated In-Line Splices

CoolSplice Connectors are IPx8 rated in-line splices suitable for outdoor applications. Wire termination is done independently by inserting a wire into the end of the connector and pushing down the color coded button with a standard pair of pliers.

Power Line Filters

Corcom FB series power line filters are specially designed to reduce conducted emissions in LED, fluorescent, and other lighting fixture applications.

Light Engine Interconnects

TE interconnect solutions help integrate light engines into todays' modern horticultural lighting systems. TE offer low-profile interconnects, in surface mount and through-hole board mount configurations as well as panel mount and free hanging wire to wire versions that are designed to enable faster and more efficient connections.

SMT Releasable Poke-In Connectors

BUCHANAN WireMate 4.0 mm pitch surface mount modular connector for Wire-to-Board connectivity. The releasable poke-in feature allows for easy and fast wire termination and its modular design enables a flexible solution.

Separable Wire-to-Board Connectors

Low profile Micro MATE-N-LOK connector excels in tight spaces and includes right-angle surface-mount headers and mating cable connectors.

Miniature Wire-to-Board connectors

TE SlimSeal Miniature series connector is a dust and waterproof, IP67-rated connector available in two and three position configurations. A robust press-to-release spring latch helps secure connector mating. Different colors enable easy identification and flexibility in design.

LED Holders

TE LUMAWISE LED holders mechanically secure and electrically connect the COB LED to a luminaire without the need to solder wires. Sockets allow the LED to be directly attached to a PCB or heat sink using a two standard screws.
