Image of mCube's MC3672/MC3635 3-Axis AccelerometerMEMSIC's MC3672 and MC3635 are ultra-low-power, low-noise, integrated digital output 3-axis accelerometers with a feature set optimized for wearables, hearables, medical devices, and IoT. With the low-power modes and tiny footprints, these accelerometers extend sensor battery life and reduce the space required for the sensor by up to 3X. Low noise and low power are inherent in MEMSIC's monolithic fabrication approach, where the MEMS accelerometer is integrated into a single chip with the electronics integrated circuit. The internal sample rate can be set from 14 Hz to 1300 Hz. Specific tap or sample acquisition conditions can trigger an interrupt to a remote MCU. These devices also support the reading of sample and event status via polling.

  • Sleep mode 0.1 µA
  • Sniff mode 0.4 µA at 6 Hz
  • Wake mode 0.3 µA at 1 Hz
  • Configurable: ±2g / ±4g / ±8g / ±16g
  • 14-bit single sample resolution
  • 12-bit, 32-sample FIFO (each X, Y, and Z)
  • SPI (8 MHz, 3/4-wire) or I2C interface
  • Sniff activity detection: programmable threshold
