They offer improved derating performance over time compared to standard varistors and are especially suited where regulatory authorities now specify repetitive surges in switch mode power supplies, drives, and general overvoltage protection modules.

The optimized design of these varistors relies on a modified manufacturing process using existing ceramic recipes that result in an improved derating performance over time compared to standard varistor series.

The extensive range, already recognized by UL as Type 2 and Type 3 SPD components and by VDE to Annex Q of IEC 60950-1, covers all standard voltage supply ratings.
