MLVA-MLVB Multilayer SMD Varistors

Eaton MLVA and MLVB series of multilayer varistors are designed to protect electronic circuits from ESD damage. With MLVA's small, standardized 0201, 0402, 0603 sizes, and MLVB's 0402 and 0603 sizes, it is easy to implement these devices into any circuit board design.

The MLVA is suitable for push button, power line and low frequency overvoltage protection. The MLVB Series is optimal for higher frequency applications (up to 480 Mbps) or USB2.0 ports. This environmentally friendly and cost effective SMD product provides a compact solution for high inrush currents. MLVs are made using multiple, fine grain ceramic layers of a specific formulation. These layers are stacked with alternating connections between two electrode terminations. This configuration allows for higher resistances at lower voltages with faster response times than a metal oxide varistor.
