API 4008 Potentiometer Input to DC Transmitters, Field Configurable
Absolute Process Instruments API 4008 G/API 4008 G D have 3-way isolation between input, output, and power
Absolute Process Instruments API 4008 G and API 4008 G D transmitters can be configured in the field using switches. Any full-range potentiometer input can be used with this unit, which then outputs an isolated DC voltage or DC current that is linearly correlated with the input. An output test button and loop-tracking LEDs that change in brightness in response to input/output help with initial startup and troubleshooting.
Pin-for-pin compatible with many competing products, the API 4008 G is a hot-swappable plug-in design that mounts in an 8-pin mounting base (sold separately). The API 4008 G requires standard power of 115 VAC, while the API 4008 G D can be powered by 9 VDC to 30 VDC. The three-way (input, output, and power) isolation of the API 4008 G and API 4008 G D is intended to reduce noise pickup, reject common mode signals, and eliminate ground loops. An output range table and thorough setup and calibration instructions are included in the datasheet.
