APD 4008 Potentiometer Input to DC Output Transmitter, Field Configurable
Absolute Process Instruments APD 4008 features three-way isolation between input, output, and power
Absolute Process Instruments APD 4008 and APD 4008 D transmitters are field configurable via switches; no PC or special cables are required. The unit accepts resistance input from a potentiometer, slide wire, linear position, displacement, or rotational device. It provides an isolated DC voltage or DC current output that is linearly related to the input. Offsets and/or input ranges other than 100% of the potentiometer can be selected. The sinking/sourcing selections produce powered or unpowered mA output, allowing it to work with powered or unpowered mA devices. Loop-tracking LEDs, which vary in intensity with the input/output, and an output test button aid initial startup and troubleshooting.
The APD 4008 is housed in a 22.5 mm wide DIN style housing and mounts vertically on a 35 mm DIN rail. Power options include two universal power options: the standard option (85 VAC to 265 VAC, 60 VDC to 300 VDC) or the D option (9 VDC to 30 VDC, 10 VAC to 32 VAC). The APD 4008 and APD 4008 D have three-way (input, output, power) isolation for ground loop elimination, common mode signal rejection, or noise pickup reduction. The datasheet includes comprehensive instructions for setup and calibration, including a range selection table.
