Hello Guys, in this tutorial we’ll show you the most efficient and easy to use application of M5Stick-C as Smart Watch. But this does not end here with only one feature, but this time we have come up with 4 more features other than the basic Clock.
So, this tutorial will guide you in detail through all the 4 features including GUI.
The very first feature is a Smart Watch that shows you time in digital manner. But this does not only show you time. It has 2 stages: (1) is with UX and (2) is with the Low Power Mode.
This time we have participated in the M5Stack Master Hunt challenge and hence we have made a very different and elegant looking Smart Watch with a much good UX. We have designed our own watch face whose colour completely gets blend with the Outer body look of M5Stick-C. The watch is designed for Minimal Action looking Face. You might notice the various functions and effects are made using programming, but rather than coding we have applied our Photoshop skills and added the extra spice that every device needs.
The second part is much more interesting. We have added Low Power Mode and that uses much lower power as compared to normal modes. We have focused on the low power consumption, so the device is programmed such a way that it goes in the low power mode within 10 secs. In the low power mode, the device lasts for couple hours more as compared to the normal mode and we have tested that feature in our lab.
These doesn’t last here. We have added Battery icon feature that will show you the Battery status all time. All thanks to the Photoshop skills. The battery icon looks completely alike the one we have in our smartphones.
The second feature shows the Live Instagram Followers Count. We mostly active on YouTube and the second platform on which we most active is Instagram – @techiesms. So, we have made this feature that allows to watch the real time count of followers on the Smart Watch.
The Other important thing is that we have used the Magnet behind the watch where we have stuck it on my MacBook Pro. By this we can watch my live Instagram followers while working. We actually tried to use as much we can.
The third feature is about the Emergency. If you have any day encountered an event where you forgot to turn off lights of your Home, then here is the solution – this time we have used our previous projects of Smart Home Automation and applied those concepts here. In this feature, you can turn off the lights of your Smart_Home with just one click.
Just one click and you can disable all the appliances of your smart home. Isn’t it amazing? One click – Disable Factor.
This mode was only possible because of Ubidots. As I have automated my lab completely by Ubidots MQTT Server, I can control the appliances via multiple devices. Thanks to Ubidots for providing the API for that.
You can visit their website to make your own IoT dashboard.
The Fourth Feature that we added is that of Pocket Counter. You might we have observed the Bouncers or Security Persons at any event who make a count of the number of people entered inside the premises, then this feature works there. It does count the number of times the event is triggered or the number of times the button is pressed.
All these Features are in the same Smart Watch that we have developed using M5Stick-C. And you can access all four features by selecting the appropriate MoP – mode of operation using Home Button of M5Stick C.
And we have a very cool GUI for this function. So, you can imagine how cool would it be to use. We are YouTuber and we upload tech videos related to electronics, IoT and Automation.
