In the 2010s, WAGO continued to develop automation solutions that focused on openness and flexibility. They also continued to develop products such as the Series 221 Splicing connectors and the WAGO TOPJOB® S Rail-Mount Terminal Blocks with levers.

WAGO’s developments changed the markets in the 1970s. In 1977, the CAGE CLAMP® transformed connection technology for all conductor types.

The success story of WAGO began in the 50s. Friedrich Hohorst and Heinrich Nagel laid the foundation stone for WAGO Klemmwerk GmbH with the patent for the screwless leaf spring terminal.

In the 1960s, Wolfgang Hohorst joined WAGO and relied on polyamide as a new material for their terminal blocks and connectors.

In 2001, WAGO celebrated its 50th anniversary. The second revolution in spring pressure connection technology came with the development of new rail-mount terminal blocks with Push-In CAGE CLAMP® technology.

In the 1980s, WAGO was making great strides as CAGE CLAMP® technology was set to conquer the market. The product portfolio continuously expanded, and licensees, for fuses, relays, or sensors, used the WAGO CAGE CLAMP® for device connections.

WAGO recognized opportunities for the company in these changes and actively pursued them, resulting in the most extensive expansion in the company’s history.

WAGO’s compact and high-performance PCB terminal blocks are easy to use and offer maximum wiring flexibility. They are available in two variants, with or without lever actuation.

By providing the bridge between a Modbus TCP/IP microgrid controller and a CAN-based battery storage system, WAGO helped Ageto Energy play an important role in helping provide the Headwaters Center in Winter Park, Colorado.

Thanks to WAGO’s patented CAGE CLAMP® connection technology, as well as three actuation variants on their TOPJOB® S terminal blocks, wiring has never been easier.
