Engineers Week 2020

Engineers Week is almost upon us once again. Each year DigiKey participates in the celebration of the many fields of engineering along with the world’s engineers. This year, during the week of February 16th through the 22nd, we will be reaching out to our internal employees and local area schools to help spread the excitement of engineering.

Internally we are hosting an employee outreach day to showcase the different technologies we have access to here at DigiKey, along with the outreach we do during the year. It is very important here to keep our employees “in the know.”

Externally we are hosting an event on Girls Day called Girls Night Out. We are inviting 6th through 12th grade girls to our headquarters to hear from real-life female engineers and learn how they are making a difference in the world of engineering by sparking curiosity, creativity, teamwork, and helping others. The girls will also participate in a hands-on technical project where they will be creating their own night light using a Circuit Playground Express.

Social media will be highlighting various engineers that are employed by DigiKey throughout the week via video interviews, along with showing sneak peaks of the outreach (and possibly even a few giveaways), so keep your eyes peeled and be sure to follow our social media accounts closely during Engineers Week!
