MSP430FR57xx FRAM Microcontrollers Slide 7

Another example of the advantage of FRAM can be seen from the fast write speed and the guaranteed write completion. In many applications, there is a need for a reliable procedure to store or backup data in case of power loss. Here one can see that FRAM does this much faster than EEPROM and contains an on chip LDO and capacitor to ensure that the last operation sent to the CPU is always finished, no matter what. In this case, there is a 10 mS window where the chip knows that a power fail situation is going to happen. At this point, the voltage regulator and capacitor combine to provide enough power for up to 5000 kBytes of data to be written over a high speed serial line.
