Like the MSP430F5xx family, the FRAM devices have 7 low power modes to provide a flexible low power solution for any application. In active mode, the MSP430FR57xx only consumes 70 µA/MHz. In LPM0, with just the CPU disabled, the device consumes only 170 µA and can wake up in less than a microsecond; furthermore, peripherals like the comparator can remain on when a 32 KHz crystal is in the application. One of the most commonly used low power modes is LPM3 with watchdog, supply voltage supervisor, and real time clock enabled while only consuming 6.4 µA. There is also LPM3.5 which is nearly the same mode but with the internal LDO disabled. This mode only consumes 1.5 µA. Finally, with all clocks off and in full shutdown mode, the device only uses 320 nA.
