This slide presents some of the many smart grid applications for the TI MSP430. The focus of this presentation is utility meters, shown in the upper left hand corner. The MSP430 can support all the devices that are part of a smart grid including in-home displays, thermostats, heat cost allocators, smart plugs, RF sensors, etc. These are a perfect fit for the MSP430 because they are low power, battery-operated, and easily scalable for communications.
