The TUSB3410UARTPDK consists of the TUSB3410-to-RS-232 Bridge Evaluation board and the TI-developed Windows VCP software solution. The onboard RS-232 transceiver limits the TUSB3410UARTPDK to RS-232 applications, but without the transceiver this controller is not limited to RS-232 applications. The RS-232 XCVR can be removed and a different standard can be used if required for evaluation within their specific application environment, such as RS-422, RS-485, or LVDS. Other TI devices that can be used in this application include the XCVR - SN75LV4737A and the LDO - TPS76933. Which device to use for each of these functions will depend on the application.
