Migrating from 8/16-bit MCUs to 32-bit ARMs Slide 19
The ARM7 instruction set wouldn’t take too much time to become familiar with, but it may lack some of the more complex instructions associated with the CISC architectures. However, the compilers available on the market today make working on the assembly code level rarely necessary – these compilers usually are quite efficient in taking C-based code and putting them into well organized assembly code. However, there are always cases where certain operations are unnecessarily complex – and it never hurts to be able to debug on the assembly level.
