Another addition to the KA8 is the ADC module which functions from 2.7 to 5.5 volts and has 12-channels able to make 2.5 microsecond conversions. Simultaneous input is allowed on any of these 12-channels with modes for eight- or ten-bit resolution with most of the same features that are currently available on parts like the QG8. The KA8 ADC has two modes, operation and stop, and a hardware trigger that can use the RTI (real-time interrupt) to trigger a hardware-triggered ADC conversion. These ADC features open up many more application opportunities for the KA8 where a peripheral can be used to interface with sensors or a peripheral is used to take analog readings on many multiple channels.
