The SPI modules have 2 modes of operation: master and slave. In master mode, data can be transmitted to the slave in 2 ways: normal transmission mode with software intervention needed each time a new slave needs to be addressed, and sequential-slave mode as shown in the image. This mode sequentially transmits data to 4 slaves as long as data is available in the FIFO. The maximum clock rate in master mode is fclk_spi/2, while in slave mode the maximum clock rate is fclk_spi/4.
