Product List
The flash module consists of a built-in signature generator that can produce a 128-bit signature (MISR) from a selected range in Flash memory. A typical use would be to verify the flashed contents against a calculated signature (e.g. during programming) The flash controller generates interrupts at the end of key operations like burning and at the end of an erase cycle. Similar interrupts are generated from the EEPROM. The flash memory has a special index sector that is normally invisible from the address space. By setting a bit in the Flash control register the index sector becomes visible at the flash base address and replaces all regular sectors. By writing to specific locations in this sector the following features can be enabled: JTAG access protection, storage of customer information, and sector security. Care should be taken while writing to the index sector, as this cannot be erased. The flash endurance is specified at a minimum of 100K write cycles with a retention specified at 10yrs.
