Four types of terminations will be discussed in this brief technical training: strong drive LVCMOS output terminations, where the output impedance (Rout) of the buffer is less than 15 Ω, indicating this to be a “strong drive” output type. The remaining termination types are Parallel/Thevenin termination; Series/Source termination, which is the most commonly used; and Level Translations, in which the termination is converting a high voltage clock signal to a lower voltage signal.
