Product List
LF RFID is used to wake up the tag, which is constantly in listening mode while only consuming a few microamperes. Once a specific data header and a system ID have been sent, the tag wakes up. This LF wake-up method is quite unique since it allows the system to wake up the tag at any time. Competing active systems that are solely based on UHF technology can only be awakened during specific time slots (polling). In addition to the trigger signal, data can also be sent through the interface. The response functionality is performed by an active transmitter in the tag transmitting at 315 or 433MHz. This allows extended transmit/receive distances, depending on the antenna sizes, of course. The ATA6285/6 is AVR MCU-based and provides maximum coding flexibility to adapt the tag to the individual user requirements. The device also includes 8kB Flash memory. To design a complete RFID system, the Microchip RFID portfolio includes various LF transmitters and UHF receivers.
