For anyone familiar with the Microchip AVR® microcontroller, development on the Microchip AT86RF232 2.4GHz RF transceiver will be easy. The same easy-to-use software and hardware tool-chain can be used for AT86RF232, and the designer can use same set of tools used to develop on all Microchip tinyAVR®, megaAVR® and AVR XMEGA® devices. The free Microchip AVR Studio® 5 software supports the AT86RF232, and both commercial and free compilers are available. Hardware tools include the Microchip ATREB232ED-EK evaluation kit, the AVR ONE!, the STK600 starter kit, and the JTAGICE3 debugger.
