The new SoC FPGA devices are based on a dual-core Arm® Cortex®-A9 processor which is a dual-issue, superscalar processor on the high end of the Arm® processor roadmap. It is designed for high performance, delivering 2.5 MIPS per MHz, and features an integrated floating-point unit and Arm NEON multimedia coprocessor. The dual-core system provides cache coherency between the processors and even extends the coherency to hardware implemented in the FPGA logic.
