Customizable ARM-Based SoC Slide 20

Intel® has teamed with Arm® to develop a specific version of the Arm® DS-5 (Development Studio 5) toolkit that is targeted for these SoC devices. With the Arm® DS-5 Intel® Edition toolkit one can now debug both the FPGA and the Arm® processor system simultaneously. It removes the debugging barrier between the two, and using a single USB Blaster target connection, the designer can debug both the hardware and software. Some of the advantages of this are, one can do hardware cross-triggering between the CPU and FPGA. If an event happens in the processor that the designer is looking for one can then see the status of the FPGA. The other things that is really nice is the use statistical analysis of the software load between the CPU and FPGA. It is a new way to look at both sides of this device at the same time.
