Panasonic introduces the SN-GCQB1 laser-type air quality sensor, part of its SNGC series. The SN-GCQB1 sensor offers enhanced features and capabilities, including measuring temperature, humidity, total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), and equivalent carbon dioxide (eCO2). It comes equipped with an onboard microprocessor, a micro-fan, a laser diode, a VOC sensor, and additional features that enhance its functionality. These detection capabilities enhance the sensor's existing particulate matter (PM) detection abilities. It utilizes a high-precision optical sensor and a unique optical design for enhanced small particle detection, which allows the sensor to detect particulate matter in three key classes: PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10. Moreover, its auto-calibration feature guarantees long-term detection accuracy, providing reliable data over extended periods.
Notably, this sensor is programmed to allow the fan to operate based on the amount of dust particles surrounding the laser diode. As a result, the overall lifespan and effectiveness of the sensor can be extended well beyond that of typical commercially available alternatives, with a projected lifetime exceeding 10 years.
The SN-GCQB1 laser-type air quality sensor is an all-in-one solution with a compact size of 37 mm x 37 mm x 12 mm (W x D x H) and is designed to detect a wide range of particulate matter, including dust, fly ash, soot, smoke, aerosols, fumes, mists, condensing vapors, solid fuels, construction materials, and smoke from cooking plant matter. It can also monitor emissions from fireplaces, furnaces, house and forest fires, waste incineration, and more.
