Design Starters help give you a running start for your next design. Whether you are looking to begin a wireless charging platform or quickly design around a Bluetooth Low Energy module, our Design Starters will help get you quickly on your way.
Digi-Key has worked with industry leaders to help drive almost instantaneous ideation and these starters are ideal building blocks to help get your concepts created, drawn and documented in almost no time at all.Because of the increasing demand for higher bandwidths worldwide, data centers have already started transitioning from 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GE) to 40 Gigabit Ethernet (40GE) . 40GE is a standard intended for the local server connectivity which enables frame transfer in ethernet up to 40 gigabits per second.
TE Connectivity Backplane Connector is a cost-effective solution for a high density, high performance backplane interconnect system. Its ground contacts are positioned within each column of the connector, combined with unique contact lead frame arrangements, enable the Connector to achieve low crosstalk and high throughput performance levels. Reliability is assured with a dual point of contact mating interface and compliant pin interface to the printed circuit board.
With the need for high-performing systems, the goal of this project is to introduce the STRADA Whisper backplane 2198268-2 to best fit and enable any system architecture. So as people start wanting to have more data at their fingertips, they need to be able to have that information quickly. As a result, a lot of infrastructure updates through the data centers focusing on the backplane.
The IEEE 1394, which is also called FireWire by Apple, is an interface standard for high-speed serial bus for connecting devices to a personal computer. Like USB, IEEE 1394 is a serial bus that uses twisted-pair wiring to move data around. However, USB is limited to 12Mbps, IEEE 1394 currently handles up to 400Mbps. The reference design illustrates single and dual port FireWire protective circuits. The single-port FireWire protective circuit is designed using the MAX5943A, while the dual-port FireWire protective circuit utilizes the MAX5944.
The monitors and other type of display medium are more efficient with detailed images. It can provide great accuracy to users that need to gather information through images. In this design, high definition signal is produced by a high-speed level shifter converting AC-coupled differential input signals to HDMI v1.3a compliant while simplifying the audio and digital cabling into single digital interface. It makes use of easy-to-use friction lock design TE connector providing secure electrical contact and smooth cable insertion/extraction.
This design features an antenna that is commonly used in telecommunications such as 4th generation GSM standard. The fourth-generation (4G) Long-Term Evolution (LTE) is a standard for high-speed wireless communication of data for mobile phones. It is based on the GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA network technologies, increasing the capacity and speed using a different radio interface together. These 4G wireless communications networks are predicted to depend on MIMO receiver technologies. These 4G operators and customers are expecting faster data rates and wider bandwidths, both of which place demands on new receiver designs.
This module antenna design combines the functionalities of the WiLink 8 module with a dual band wifi antenna on a single board. It uses the TE connectivity's high performance dual band antenna that operates at frequency range of 2.4-2.4835 GHz and 4.9-5.875 GHz, well suited for diverse wireless applications. This design optimized both embedded Wifi and Bluetooth with low energy functionalities.
The F0480 is a RF Digital Variable Gain Amplifier (RF DVGA) with a wide bandwidth of 400MHz to 2700MHz. The use of glitch-free and zero-distortion technologies reduce attenuation overshoot during attenuation state changes. Combining silicon glitch-free DSA and a zero distortion RF amplifier in a single compact QFN package the F0480 of IDT provides very high reliability. It features a typical maximum gain of 13dB with a noise figure of 4dB and a gain adjustment of 23dB in 1dB steps designed to operate with a single 5V supply. It offers +41dBm output IP3 using 100mA of current.
High Reliability, High Isolation Single-Pole-Double-Throw RF switch
In telecommunications, ideal RF switches require low insertion loss, high isolation and linearity. The IDT F2912 is a single-pole-double throw RF switch capable of having low insertion of loss of 0.4dB at 1GHz and a RF1 to RF2 Isolation of 74dB at 1GHz with extended temperature of -55C to +125C making it highly reliable. In addition, this covers a broad frequency range from 300kHz to 8000MHz.
This reference design employs an integrated balun for single ended RF and LO inputs. The Intermediate Frequency amplifier operates from 50MHz to 350MHz in an open collector topology that supports a variety of IF frequencies and bandwidths. It utilizes an F1152 RF to IF downconverting mixer that comes with a high side or low side injection options. This dual channel device is designed to operate with a single 5V supply. It is optimized for operation in a Multi-mode, Multi-carrier Base Station Receiver for RF bands from 1700 - 2200 MHz with Low Side Injection or from 1400 to 1700 MHz with High Side Injection.
